Well, who would have thought . . . I am coming out of retirement to run Tech Talk workshops for Literacy for Life through fall and winter and maybe into spring. Here's why.
Last year I decided to retire from a committed schedule to work and informed Literacy for Life that I would no longer be available for Tech Talk workshops. I knew I would probably continue to do something but wanted flexibility on my time to allow for travel. I had big plans for travel in 2020. Obviously, COVID-19 put a stop to those plans.
Just after I retired, Literacy for Life announced it was closing it's doors due to funding issues. A great loss to all Foothills County communities and a sad day. However, they made a decision not to close the door entirely and have now found a way to recreate themselves and offer modified programming. Due to the pandemic, most of the programming being offered will be in an online format. As I won't be going too far too soon, I have offered my services to help them with their transition. So, I will be hosting some of the Tech Talk Online workshops this fall.
Exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! I'm sure many people will be uncertain about online classes, but we are working hard to make this virtual class as fun and interactive as it is in person. It's a learning curve for sure. One we hope you will join us on.
